If keeping your boat flaring is number one, then steering is number two! You need to keep a boat pointing in the right direction to get anywhere you would like to go, otherwise you may as well just hop on a raft and hope for the best. Anyway, time for a complete steering refit.
Edson’s Vision II pedestal looks sharp on this older boat and fits right in. Plus, I now have a clean place to mount a chart plotter and a single-lever engine control. Don’t forget a new chain & wire, and a new idler too!
Update: I added this photo of the pedestal in use. This is with the small temporary wheel, while the new one gets covered with leather.
